Travel Vaccines

New guidelines have been issued to the surgery by Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) regarding the provision of Holiday Vaccinations.

Our Nurses may provide Travel Advice to patients but some vaccinations that were previously given free of charge will now incur a fee. The charges will take effect from
1st June 2017.

Travel vaccinations that will be charged for are:
Hepatitis B
Meningitis ACWY
Yellow Fever
Japanese Encephalitis
Tick Borne Encephalitis
Rabies

Some vaccines will remain free of charge as they protect against diseases thought to represent greatest risk to public health if they were brought in the country.

Travel vaccinations that will remain free of charge are:
Hepatitis A
Typhoid
Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio
Cholera
Malaria (medication)

Travel advice will remain free of charge
