The Gateshead Walk In Centre is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for minor injuries and illness.
Open 7.00am – 10.00 pm, 7 days a week
You can use the walk in centre if your problem isn’t life threatening, so don’t need A+E but it needs more urgent attention than a GP appointment may provide.
Reasons why you might need to attend the walk in centre would include:
- infections and rashes
- blood pressure checks
- fractures and lacerations
- emergency contraception and advice
- vomitting and diarrhoea
- hay fever
- insect and animal bites
- stitches (sutures)
- dressing care
- minor cuts and bruises
- minor burns and strains
- Stop smoking support
Gateshead’s walk in centre is based at the QE Hospital opposite Outpatients and Accident and Emergency.
Alternatively, if you are not sure if you should go to the walk in centre and require advice when the surgery is closed ring NHS 111.
